"Ground Control to Major Tom ... "

In five months, we'll be getting married! Where has the last year-and-a-bit gone by since we got engaged? As I pointed out on my birthday last month, the fact that I'm marvelling over the passage of time means I'm an adult.

According to the knot, we have 140 items left to-do, 16 of which are overdue.

Here are my priorities of what to do in January:
-Order invitations
-Order bridesmaid dresses
-Look at tuxedos/suits
-Decide on a florist

So those are my goals for January! I'll keep you posted. I figure, once it's April, we're into crunch-time, so I'd like to have as much as done as possible!

I gave up on the Knot when it started sending me e-mails reminding me to book a calligrapher and think about wedding bags. I'm not even sure what a wedding bag is.

Talking of which, if you do get round to making a list of words that made no sense in my last post, e-mail it to me at shonagh ingram at bolton dot gov dot uk and I'll do my best to clarify x

i can't believe it is 2009, the year in which we are getting married. EEK! (that was an excited eek, not a scary eek)

5 months will go by so quickly!!

You know what's strange? I've had this song stuck in my head for days.

I get those emails from the knot too, my last one was "14 months to go!" and made it sound urgent for the things i have to do :) lol

I think your January goals are awesome! :)

Wow, you're getting close, eh? Good luck with all the tasks you have left to complete.

I saw you post elsewhere that you were thinking about getting into the 365 picture thing.

I've been doing it for a while and I'm thinking about gathering up a links list. If you want to get into it just leave a comment.

Happy belated Birthday! Quit looking at all of those to-do lists and schedules out there. They just make me look lazy...

We are in the same boat! I just ordered my invitations, picked out our tuxes, and I'm meeting with my florist this month. But the knot still says I have a 8 things overdue!! So annoying, isn't it!? I have 4 months...and with my maid of honor's wedding at the end of this month-things are a bit crazy! I feel like I'm overwhelmed and not getting anything done..

For me it's Martha telling me I have a lot left to do. hahaha Apparently I am overdue on tasks to have been completed in October, but ahead on some things "scheduled" for March. Go figure!

I have a Martha checklist somewhere. I think I'm mostly on target with Martha (I say mostly because Martha doesn't have 140 items to do in the first place - she's a lot more reasonable in her expectations).

I'm dreadfully behind, but for some reason, I'm not worried. I've been peeping at hair/make-up trials. I want to try and do one soon, but I'm becoming exasperated. $150 for a TRIAL!? No thank you!
