World HIV/AIDS Day
There is no cure. There is no vaccine. Treatment is far better than it used to be, but it's not a cure.
Many people actually think there's a cure for AIDS, according to this BBC article, "Warning over AIDS Complacency", which details the results of two studies published today.
Oh, and it's not just spread amongst those who are homosexual, as well as drug addicts. You probably knew that (given who's reading my blog, you're probably aware), but not everyone realizes that AIDS does not discriminate by sexual orientation.
How do we educate about how to prevent HIV? Amongst youth, through sex ed in schools. Among adults, public health awareness campaigns and physician involvement.
