I hate being sick ...

Re-reading that title it occurred to me: what a whiner I am! Who likes being sick?

I have sinusitis (for which the antibiotics is working) and bronchitis (which I suspect is viral, but it's impossible to tell). Earlier today breathing hurt. Yes, each breath pained me. I wished I didn't have to breathe. I was coughing a lot, but that stopped due to the codeine based cough medicine - nothing else is a good cough suppressant for me. You know that deep cough that seems to empty your lungs and hurts your rib muscles? That deep cough was a relief to breathing. It was amazing that I was in less pain coughing that hard than breathing caused. My asthma has obviously been strongly exacerbated by the bronchitis and sinusitis. Boo.

I am not trying to whine to get your sympathy. Trust me. First, I have to say the pain is less now, and hopefully a few more early bedtimes and healthy meals (and some more cough syrup before bed), and I'll be on the mend. Second, and more importantly, my pain is not what others with truly debilitating chronic diseases have. I wonder how people with chronic diseases feel? I felt that ill earlier, and yet I know nothing of what someone with cystic fibrosis, multiple sclerosis or parkinson's disease experiences every day of their lives.

I think I need to make a donation to some charities next pay day (or maybe the pay day after that - I have a lot of wedding related bills coming in, and I don't want to spend more than I make). Donating to a good charity will make me feel better. Hmm ... March is Kidney Month, and someone at work is canvassing for The Kidney Foundation. I'll keep you posted which charity I decide upon.

Hey ... I try to put things in perspective. As much as I whine or complain, someone has it worse. And I should be humbled and take what I'm experiencing without complaining. (Except that I'm bad for complaining.)

I'm excited to read about your chosen charity.
