DIY Boutonnieres

I took the advice of a couple of you ladies (thanks to everyone who commented, but thanks especially to Blablover5, Bella, Melissa, and The Professional Bridesmaid) suggest I seal the boutonnieres with something weatherproofing. At that suggestion, I wandered in to Michaels (a place I've never been before, heehee) and purchased a waterproofing spray. I picked up a spray that was for a bunch of things, including flowers and fabric. I figured that would be good enough for silk flowers.

Here's how they turned out:

Here's Wade modelling his boutonniere:

Ooooh, pretty!

Confession - I would never have thought of waterproofing them.

I only thought of it when I noticed the paint was water-based ... :)

They look lighter in the picture than they do in real life. The matte spray did make them a little shiny, but not bad. They are closer to their "inspiration" flower. I'll play around and try to get a better picture ... but if not, you'll have to wait until the pro photos are available (after the wedding)!

Ooh very nice. They don't look too shiny at all.

They turned out great! Well done. So pretty. And Wade seems proud to be modeling them. :)

Wade thinks I'm nuts when I make him pose for pictures. That's his "you're nuts" glare. (And he's wearing his nascar shirt b/c it was Sunday. He doesn't usually wear the nascar shirts on days where we are going to see people ... at my request.)

Great job on the Bout's!! My sister made our bouquets out of fake-flowers, and I plan on doing the bout's sometime soon!

You've NEVER been to Michaels?! Did you realize what you'd been missing once you got in there?! I could spend our entire bank account in there on projects!!!

I love how the flowers turned out and glad I could help!!!! :-)
