We decided against a cruise, for a few reasons. First, we wanted to do a tour and some free-touring on our own. For the cruise we liked, we'd have had very little time to do things before and after our trip. Second, they are more expensive, and although they include breakfasts and dinners, they don't include any excursions. Bus tours do include many excursions, most breakfasts, and some dinners.
Our plan:
- We arrive in Paris on June 8
- Travel around France for a few days
- Head to London
- Visit our beloved London (we've been there together) for a few days
- Do this tour:
- then head to the south of France to hang out on the Côte d’Azur (French Riviera) and Provence.
Hey, if we're going to splurge anywhere, why not on our honeymoon?! We will get home on June 27.

Congrats! It sounds like a great itinerary. And I think you did the right thing by nixing the cruise - then you have more freedom to be alone, which on your honeymoon is a good thing.
It sounds like you're going to have a lot of fun! I've always wanted to go to the south of France.
Definitely a good thing to splurge on your honeymoon!!
Splurging on your honeymoon is a great idea! Sounds like it's going to be so much fun.
Love it love it! Wish you all the best and lots of fun on your trip.
I have family in France and have been a few times so if you have Questions, let me know!!

Sounds great! I second London Bride. Anything I can do, let me know. x
Whaaaat?!? How exciting!! Wow, that is an amazing trip! L and I probably won't do our splurge-y honeymoon until October, when he can get more time off work. But, yes...it will definitely be a splurge.
Fun fact: you guys will be getting home on our wedding date, June 27th! Eep!!
This sounds ah-maz-ing. I am positively jealous in the best way. Are you booking through some sort of agency to coordinate all of the travel?
I booked the tour through CAA (the same company as AAA, but its Canadian arm). We got the flight through the airline's website (Air Canada). I bought cancellation & interruption insurance for both aspects of the trip. I also bought medical coverage for myself, but Wade did not get medical because it's covered through his work benefits.
As for the rest of it (hotels / hostels, train travel, renting cars, or whatever), I'll do it on my own, either over the internet or by phone.
That sounds like an amazing trip! Congrats! I can't wait to book the 2nd part of my honeymoon which will be our real splurge. You've inspired me :)
